We’ve all been there. Anybody that’s used an iPhone knows that the battery life is pitiful. While the phones themselves are powerful, their battery life is something that leaves a lot to be desired. Of course, there are ways to conserve your iPhone battery life. Here are 8 things you can do to preserve your Iphone Repair Malaysia.

1. Don’t Automatically Update Apps

If you’re using anything higher than iOS 7, it’s highly likely that your phone automatically updates applications when newer versions are released. While this feature is convenient, it can also drain your battery at alarmingly quick rates.

To manually update apps when you want to, tap on the Settings app, head down to App and iTunes Stores, and find Automatic Downloads > Updates. Click the slider to Off.

2. Prevent Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh is an excellent feature that is designed to make your phone smarter and constantly on the move. This feature identifies which apps you use the most, what time of day you use them, and automatically updates them. This gives you the latest information when you open the app. Because the phone constantly updates its apps to give you the latest information, this can be very power consuming. To turn this feature off, go to the Settings app, click on General, find Background App Refresh, and either turn off the feature or adjust each app based accordingly on what you want.

3. Turn on Auto-Brightness

The iPhone comes with ambient light sensors that allows it to adjust the brightness of the screen based on the setting. What this means is that if you’re using your phone in a brightly lit area, your phone’s screen will become brighter. If you’re in a dark room, your phone’s screen will be dimmer. This feature saves battery because it uses less power when you’re in dark places.

Adjust this setting by going to the Settings app, finding Display & Brightness, and turn on Auto-Brightness so that the slider is green.

4. Stop Motion and Animations

Ever since the introduction of iOS text features , a new feature called Background Motion made its debut on the iPhone. What this does is introduces a parallax effect to your phone. If you move your iPhone and watch the app icons and the background image, each of these will move slightly independently of each other. While this is a nice little feature to have, it’s also very power consuming.

You can turn this off by going to the Settings app, clicking on General > Accessibility, and finding Reduce Motion, which you then turn on to disable the parallax effect.

5. Fetch Email Less Often

If your phone works less, it uses less power. That’s a given. By accessing your network data less, you can also save your phone’s battery life immensely. By making your phone check your email accounts less often, you can save yourself a lot of hassle when it comes to prolonging your battery life on a day-to-day basis. Instead, you can manually check your email when you need to.

To change your Fetch settings for emails, tap on the Settings app, go to Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Fetch, and select your preference for how often you would like your phone to fetch your emails.

6. Don’t Send Diagnostic Data to Apple or Developers

While we’re sure Apple is very appreciate of any diagnostic data we send to them about the iPhone, it is a battery killer. Regularly and automatically updating information and data to Apple or Developers can cost battery life.

To turn this off, go to Settings app, click on Privacy > Diagnostics & Usage, and click Don’t Send if you want to disable sending data to Apple.

7. Use Low-Power Mode

If you don’t want to adjust all your settings to save your battery life and want a quick fix to conserving your power, you should try out Low Power Mode. Released with iOS 9, Low Power Mode shuts down all non-essential features on your iPhone. Apple claims that turning this on can give you an extra 3 hours of battery life, so why not?

To enable Low Power Mode, go to your Settings app, find Battery, and turn on Low Power Mode.

8. Run Your Battery As Low As You Can Before Charging

In case you didn’t know, the more you charge a battery, the less it can hold. While it might seem odd, this is just one of those quirks that modern batteries have. As time goes by, the battery in your phone remembers the point that you last started your recharge, and sets this as its target. For example, if you always charge your iPhone when it still has 50% of its charge left, eventually your battery will begin to behave as if its total capacity is 50%, not 100%.To combat this, try to wait until your phone is down to 20% or less to charge it!
